A late disgorgement of the first Blanc de Blancs to be made on our vineyard. The 2011 harvest, coming just two years after planting our vineyard in 2009, was only made possible by the use of high-graft vines.

The Estate:
All Langham Estate wines are made using grapes grown at our single site in rural Dorset. The Crawthorne vineyard consists of 12 hectares planted solely with the classic Champagne varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The site was carefully selected for its south facing slope and free-draining chalk subsoil. A long growing season and considerate viticulture ensures we harvest the finest grapes possible.
Vinification:
After harvest, the grapes were pressed with only the ‘cuvée,’ the first press yielding the most delicate, purest juice, retained. The base wines were fermented in used oak then aged for five months. After blending and bottling, the wine has spent over eight years on the lees before disgorgement.
Tasting Note:
On the nose, aromas of toasted sourdough, hazelnuts, ripe lemon and grapefruit peel. and butterscotch. The palate is vibrant with tangy lemon curd, oaty creaminess and orange blossom honey.
