100% Pinot Meunier from our vineyard, this is part of Langham’s premium range and is only bottled as a single varietal wine in exceptional years.
This particular vintage, the juice for this wine was 100% barrel fermented, with none of our stainless steel fermented juice going into the blend.
Delicate tannin from the oak adds great texture and there is a wonderfully refreshing grapefruit acidity.

100% barrel-aged Pinot Meunier
All Langham Estate wines are made using grapes grown at our single site in rural Dorset. The Crawthorne vineyard consists of 12 hectares planted solely with the classic Champagne varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Pinot meunier. The site was carefully selected for its south facing slope and free-draining chalk subsoil. A long growing season and considerate viticulture ensures we harvest the finest grapes possible.
The grapes were picked in October 2018 and gently pressed, whole bunch. Press fractions were carefully separated and left to naturally settle for 24 hours. Primary fermentation took place 100% in used French oak barrels, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. Following 9 months of élevage, the final blend was bottled and left to age on lees for a minimum of 18 months. At disgorgement the wine received 1.5 g/L dosage and was aged for a further 3 to 6 months under cork.
A vibrant golden colour with a steady stream of fine bubbles. The nose is intense and pronounced. Caramelised peach, fresh cream and wet beach pebbles come initially. These aromas are backed up by a delicate wave of floral notes, such as apple and orange blossoms and honeysuckle. The palate is rich and complex with a profile of white peach, pear tarte tatin and salted almonds.
