  • "Generous & complex in all departments"

Generous and complex in all departments. The nose leads with strawberry mille-feuille. There is a richness to the cherry, strawberry and shortbread palate that is incredibly well balanced by the firm red fruit acidity. Classy wine with great personality!

  • "A fusion of wild strawberry, raspberry & grapefruit peel"

The nose on this is immense, with a fusion of wild strawberry, raspberry and grapefruit peel, and hints of roasted nuts and spices.
The Langham Rosé is bone dry due to its low dosage, but I found the palate to be incredibly full and flowing.

Tasting Notes

Base Vintage:

2017

Blend:

54% Pinot Noir, 23% Pinot Meunier, 23% Chardonnay

The Estate:

All Langham Estate wines are made using grapes grown at our single site in rural Dorset. The Crawthorne vineyard consists of 12 hectares planted to Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Pinot meunier. The site was carefully selected for its south facing slope, which is composed of the same chalk, clay and flint soil as found in the Champagne region. A long growing season and considerate viticulture ensures we harvest the finest grapes possible.

Vinification:

The grapes were picked early October and gently pressed, whole bunch, in a pneumatic press. Primary fermentation took place in a combination of stainless steel tanks and used oak barrels. We ferment a small batch of Pinot Noir each year as a red wine. A dash of this red wine was added to the blend prior to bottling to achieve a pale pink colour and enhance red fruit characteristics. Following secondary fermentation the wine was left to age on yeast lees in bottle for a minimum of 24 months.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of rhubarb crumble, cherry, cranberry & raspberry compote. The palate has a fine mousse with notes of strawberries & cream, sour cherry & pink lady apple with an integrated citrus acidity. A complex wine with a long finish, enjoy on its own or with light seafood dishes.
