Amazing to think that when this great film was first released in 1987 it was a flop! Two out-of-work actors visit Uncle Monty’s cottage for a week away. The all-male cast are excellent; Richard E. Grant’s performance as Withnail is one of his very best. He is sensitively supported by Paul McGann as ‘I’, a role based on the director’s own experience as a young man. Richard Griffiths is brilliant as the colourful uncle. There are so many comic scenes that it is impossible to highlight just one to entice you to this witty and intelligent film. Experience an unforgettable evening in a beautiful vineyard barn, savouring Uncle Monty’s famous two-course chicken supper from Smith’s Kitchen before the film begins.

Smith’s Kitchen will serve up their signature chowder, but this time in a bread bowl. The brilliant Porlock set the mood with live music inside the barn from 12.30–2.30pm. Don’t miss this festive day of local flavor and holiday cheer!
