Ratafia of England – Pre-order

£49.99

Available for pre-order, delivery from 03/12/25.

Ratafia of England is a sweet mistelle wine, made in collaboration with Barney Wilczak of Capreolus Distillery. Fresh grape juice from the 2025 harvest is fortified with a spirit distilled from our 2024 Pinot Noir, capturing the fragrance, brightness and chalk-born purity of our fruit in a completely new form.

Born from curiosity and friendship, this small-batch release of just 517 bottles celebrates the full potential of our vineyard’s fruit. Balancing natural sweetness with vivid acidity, it offers a glimpse into another side of Langham’s winemaking — expressive, textural and deeply rooted in our Dorset terroir.

“This project has been quietly evolving for two years, and it’s something we’re incredibly proud of. Working with Barney has allowed us to explore our fruit from a different angle, with the purity of distillation and the passion he has for his craft. This ratafia reflects our ethos and approach to our winemaking whilst having some fun along the way. It’s generous incisive and simply delicious – a true meeting point between Langham and Capreolus.”

Tommy Grimshaw, Head Winemaker, Langham Wine Estate

Ratafia of England shows lifted notes of dried orchard fruit and orange blossom, with a gentle sweetness on the palate balanced by bright acidity and black tea astringency, with a long, mineral finish. It is ideal served chilled as an aperitif, with cheese, fruit-based desserts or simply on its own as a digestif.
