The Sommelier Wine Awards is the UK’s only on-trade wine competition, judging the best wines available to bars & restaurants from across the globe.
The SWA have said about the ever-growing English sparking wine category, “Now, English fizz is well established, its novelty value has worn off and our teams judge it far more critically”. With this change in the category, the bar has been set high. We are honoured to have been awarded a silver medal, when the judging process is becoming more and more challenging, with only around 16 medals being awarded in total. It is encouraging to see English sparkling wine making its way onto more and more wine lists, and we hope to see you enjoying it in restaurants and bars far and wide in the near future.
Wine consultant Filippo Pastorini suggested, ‘This would be great by the glass in a premium fish restaurant, with its intense flowery and fruity nose, and some pastry hints to complement. The palate is just as intense, with very good acidity and freshness.’
Whilst Tim Smith from Winesurfer Consulting added the following tasting notes: ‘Bready, yeasty aromas with green apple and orange peel fruit and a fine mousse texture.’
